Lamination

Lamination is the joining of two or more layers to form a new overall structure. Our technical films are securely bonded to the customer's material by this process, or integrated into a multi-layer composite.

If all materials are provided by the customer, we also undertake the lamination by means of thermoplastic or reactive bonding as contract work.

Multilayer composite

From different materials

Lamination is the joining of two or more layers to form a new overall structure. Our technical films are securely bonded to the customer's material by this process, or integrated into a multi-layer composite.

If all materials are provided by the customer, we can also carry out the lamination by means of thermoplastic or reactive bonding as contract work.

A surface pre-treatment (corona treatment) is just as much a matter of course as additional feed stations for running in additional cover materials or changing carrier substrates (reliners). Extensive laboratory and testing equipment ensures quality monitoring during production and optimum product quality.

The joining of different materials can be done by different techniques and using suitable adhesive systems. Requirements such as dry cleaning, boil wash resistance or breathability are taken into account depending on the end application.

Modern

Laminating systems

Gerlinger Industries has all the modern laminating systems such as

  • Flatbed lamination
  • Thermoplastic hotmelts
in spot roller application or full-surface reactive, moisture-curing polyurethane adhesives
  • PSA adhesive system (pressure sensitive adhesives)
    in roller application
  • Hotmelt nonwoven
in direct spray process or in the feed of finished nonwovens or webs
