Heat-activated seam sealing or hot-melt tapes are used to seal seams or for seamless bonding of films, fabrics and breathable membranes. They also provide a technical seal against foams and other media. A multi-layer film structure or the connection with textile carrier materials offers a wide range of application possibilities.

To ensure that clothing, shoes and equipment remain permanently waterproof, the seams must be reliably sealed. Even under extreme conditions, as well as washing and dry cleaning, Gerlinger Industries tapes ensure the highest performance in sealing single and cross seams.

The clever combination of high and low melting layers as well as a wide selection of textile outer layers give further processing maximum safety and stability.

Bonding using thermoplastic hotmelt tapes is not only clean and reliable - in-house customisation to customer-specific widths (from 4 mm) ensures precise and even adhesive application - all from a single source.

We extrude the hotmelt film by means of wide-slit extrusion, therefore our hotmelt tapes are available with or without backing material (including PE, silicone paper).

There are no limits to the raw material combinations we can use, thanks to our 5-layer co-extrusion line. Our multi-member development team is therefore experienced and imaginative when it comes to the reliable bonding of coated or inherently difficult materials.
